Had an interview scheduled. Waited 10 mins on call, no one joined. Week later get the email for moving to on-site round. Told the recruiter what happened, he said he has feedback in the system from the call. he rescheduled the phone screen with another interviewer. Did I get the first guy in troubl...Read more
Job posting for a role came up so I submitted my application day of and heard back from a recruiter later that same day. Proceeded to meet with recruiter 4/18, hiring manager 4/22, recruiter again for interview loop prep 4/25, and virtual onsite 4/30-5/1. I was to meet with 2 engineers, recruiter, a...Read more
I was interviewing with Uber recently for a staff engineer role. It was a coding round. An Uber staff engineer was interviewing me. Problem: Given an N-ary tree, print the boundary nodes, anti-clockwise. I took up an example to see if I understood the problem correctly. So for the below example (see...Read more
I "cheated" on virtual interviews to get my offer at Facebook. I don't regret it or even feel guilty tbh. The LeetCode style questions asked in these interviews are so different from the skills you need on the job you're being hired for. Instead of spending months memorizing LeetCode questions, I s...Read more
I was supposed to start the process for E5 (phone screen soon) but my recruiter mentioned that they are pausing hiring rn due to business needs. Another layoff coming?
Seemingly neverending process Absolutely disrespectful to interviewee's time No clue which team you're going to work in Need written offers to negotiate. Company is fine, interview process is not. Update: Got an offer, not joining. The process made me salty.
I fkd up bad. Had an interview, was confused about the question and how it had been set up, and exactly the context of the code. I kept asking questions and saying I would do it like this... 5-6 mins in and the interviewer just wrote out some of the code said it should be like this said we're don...Read more
Ever got a job that you interviewed for but didn't really feel great about the interviews?
I’ve had on average three interviews a week for the last six weeks. I either get to round 1 and receive rejection or I don’t pass the initial phone screen. I’ve had one panel interview, which went alright but probably won’t translate into an offer. 10 YOE TC 385 -> 0 Edit: round 1 isn’t phone s
I just went through Amazon interview loop for L5. One of the craziest experiences I ever had. I was getting about 5 emails from Amazon recruiters every week and I decided to entertain one for Practice🤣. Went through the Phone Screen. Was asked 1 question here - The easiest question I ever had to ...Read more
I was reached out by a Meta recruiter for a SWE position. I was not really looking for a job, but I decided to take it for practice, and who knows if the offer was right, I would take it! I did the interview. I was able to do the first question, which was trivial. For the second/third questions, I ...Read more
No joke I had my open Ai software engineer interview scheduled for next week Will I still get asked LeetCode hard or will they now ask me just to be candid? #openai Seriously though is it even worth my time?
I got an opportunity to interview for L5 Software Engineering role a few weeks ago. I have been busting my ass off on LeetCode cos go big or go home right? I had my first phone chat with the recruiter yesterday, she said it went really well and she that is rooting for me to make it to the end. She ...Read more
What was the worst candidate you have ever interviewed and what they do?
I had my onsite interview a few days ago, and I recently received an email from the recruiter asking to schedule a call next week to provide an update on the interview. Does anyone know if this might indicate a positive or negative outcome? If it's negative, why would they arrange a call just to co...Read more
Did a fang loop and aced all rounds except one of them. In that round, the interviewer was a guy I rejected a few months back for TikTok sr backend swe. I immediately recognized his face because he flunked and got upset since I gave him an uncommon mega LC hard question like I usually do and I gave ...Read more
I hate PM interviews, especially at big companies. I feel like what is asked in these interviews is rarely a good measure of how well you will perform on the job. I’ve founded and sold two successful boot strapped startups which were generating low seven figure annual profits so I get interviews bu...Read more
I’ve got contacted by a recruiter to start Citadel SDE interview process, I’m told there will be a phone interview round, then on-site full loop. Anyone interviewed with Citadel before? What questions do they ask? Do they have system design? Behavior questions? Are coding questions just leetcode?
I got a rejection from my Stripe interview, they mentioned it was due to the coding round but refused to provide more feedback. Stripe folks, can you please shed some light -what is the criteria used for coding rounds? I did 2 iterations on the question and had to look up some APIs.
Has any of you cheated in a FAANG interview and got into the company? As in, looking up code for an initial phone screen or something similar? Just curious to know 😛
