Future company is giving me this option and I’m totally indifferent. #firstworldproblems Which should I go with? To use daily and commute with.
At Amazon, for men, it's terrible. Imagine having to traverse floor by floor to find an over-used stall to relieve yourself. #firstworldproblems ... I think.
Before Covid, I could never imagine a meeting during lunch hour. The office would be a ghost town from 12pm to 1pm. Now, without question, my manager schedules scrums and 1:1’s at 12 pm. #firstworldproblems but fuck this is annoying that I have to explain this to my manager.
Any suggestions on improving Video Con. lighting if there is a window right behind you? Facing the window is not an option, unfortunately. #remotework #wfh #firstworldproblem
When you put down the paper toilet seat cover and begin to squat and the automatic toilet flusher triggers and sucks your seat cover right down the tube. Any other #firstworldproblems you encountered today?

I order ice cream every other weekend or so with uber eats. But everytime my order either misses waffle bowl or the ice cream is less. I really doubt the delivery people tamper with my order. I’ve tried adding generous tips, but didn’t help. Uber eats customer service gives automated response. So fr...Read more
Assume you are already financially comfortable, and the career passion opportunity pays comparable to your comfort sustaining income. Both choices are rare opportunities and won't realistically be available in the near future. The mediocre job is something you know well and have done. The other jo...Read more
I know this sounds entitled as hell but I am being honest. I can't cook (learning these days) despite being 26 and living alone for almost 5 years. I always have eaten at BF/Lunch/Dinner at office. Worrying about cooking sucks. WHFing since almost two months and still my cooking hasn't improved much...Read more
I don't have enough pockets for car keys, wallet, phone, hand sanitizer, ... this is one of the little annoying things that I have to search for each of these when I need them and happens all the time. I feel like I am unhealthily concerned with how to maximize my TC. Constantly regretting and wondering what would have happened if I decided to stay at FAANG and seeing my friends make so much more money with the stock rally. Can't help but have to face a webcam with window behind me. Don't like closing curtains/windows in day time. My existing webcam gives up on me if it sees too bright light behind me. Don't like the ring lights much, as you can't face them for too long without hurting eyes. So, with that, any suggest...Read more
A few weeks ago, I discovered the Ahi Tuna burger at the LAX 22 cafe for the first time, and it was great! Since, I've been pitching it to team members to try. Today, my manager took me up on the suggestion and order the a la carte Ahi Tuna, and I ordered the Ahi Tuna burger... But his came out over...Read more
#firstworldproblem, I'll admit upfront. The 2nd position is with the same company, but a different org. I'm not expecting the numbers to be vastly different as a result. While both roles look good to me, the 2nd may be marginally better and in an area I've already worked on in the past. But the ca...Read more
Often I fight with my neighbor for the curb parking spot that sits directly in front of my house. For some reason, they have like 6 cars and have to use my side of the curb to park. Normally I’m fine with it but it’s super annoying whenever I have guests visit and they can’t park their cars because ...Read more
Does anyone here have experience with commissioning art and the pricing? I got a referral to an artist with good references, but he wants $18,000 USD for a 3/4 portrait of one figure alone that's about 40 inches tall. I had more of an 8 feet mural in mind. Is this a reasonable price? If anyone has ...Read more
First let’s get the obvious thing out of the door. TC. of course but I’ve lately realized, probably because of aging lol, that team members and managers are vastly more important for peace of mind. I’ve worked in teams with poor wlb but I didn’t burn out because of the positive atmosphere, it used t...Read more
I know it's a weird question, but bear with me.. This thought has been germinating in me for a while, but I really don't think humans were supposed to live like this. And by this I mean the typical upper class, western family style. On the surface, it looks perfect! My wife and I are in our thirtie...Read more
After graduating earlier this year with a degree in cs from a reputed university in Europe and getting a well paid job at Meta (will also be laid off in a few months), I realised I do not like software engineering at all. I am not passionate about building things. I enjoy figuring out how to build ...Read more
Tl;dr: gave my money to google because prime video app is complete rubbish. The story: I wanted to watch a movie. It’s not available on the usual streaming platforms, except prime, where it’s “free with ads”. Got 10 minutes in, and then there’s 88s worth of ads. Boom, I’m done, not going to watch e...Read more
