Hey, I’m currently looking for referral at Plaid and Stripe — I’ve found a position I’d like to apply for, and would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance! #plaid #stripe
GavvasiM - can you not
Can he not what ? Speak the truth ?
Blind is a platform that encourages you to share your experience. That's why it exists and helps people. It encourages openess and transparency. If you have different opinions, feel free to share here to let others know. I am sharing my true opions.
@Pdnp42, If you don't feel good about the principle of Blind, you can leave Blind.
Gavvasi: even though I agree with you on some points, it’s unethical to only post your views as if they’re the views of *everyone* at the company. “People there are suffering and very struggling” is not about your experience, you’re speaking for other people here 🙂
askjudd: the reason I am putting there is because, so many past and current colleagues talk to me they have such feelings. OK I rephrased it now.
Will Plaid shut down soon? What’s the future of the company?
Op must be a clown for wanting a referral to plaid
Plz tell me what’s up with Plaid. Is it the next Groupon ?
Groupon ipo-ed, that is already a success lol....

I wouldn’t recommend joining Plaid. There is huge line of people signing up to leave, our best engineers have all left, and our leadership acts is like the company is 13B even though our revenue is peanuts. The people are great, love some of the Eng work, but in general, most people hate it here post layoffs. I, 3/4 teammates, and my manager are all trying to leave. My product manager just changed this LinkedIn profile pic to “open to work” even know he’s still here.
One more top level comment. Be careful what you read on Blind. @GavvasiM and @last_em have their own experiences, but they aren't the general experience. I've been at Plaid for 2.5 years, been at pre-IPO companies and public companies before with 9 YOE. Plaid’s in another hard build mode right now. Every successful company goes through phases where the work was daunting and outlook grim. Current darling OpenAI had a rough four years before this last one. Google was made fun of during the IPO. Life at Plaid is still much, much better than other orgs and oncalls I've experienced. Leadership is listening to pains from eng teams, they are aware of how difficult it is to get work done with limited HC. Plaid has a really strong brand and products we thought had failed are now seeing tons of success from slow moving verticals that are just now signing deals. There are A TON of high impact, low hanging fruit eng opportunities that are good for career growth and promotions
You should use Blind along with other research, but you shouldn't put full faith in Blind wherever you look for opportunities. Talk to friends and fmr coworkers, ask the hiring manager hard questions, ask for time with the Head of Eng or CTO before signing.
Most people at most companies will be candid and it's easy to tell if someone is fluffing it up or being overly optimistic.
Curious why you want to switch to Plaid. We are experiencing a high wave of attrition post layoff. Morale is at the lowest level. I know a lot of people in the company are suffering and very struggling.
Not switching, I also got laid off from CB. As an engineer with 2 YOE, it seems to me that there are not many available options in the market. I’m trying to find positions that my experiences would fit the requirement, not looking for IPO at the moment.
I know how it feels like to be having morale at the lowest level (I’ve been there too), but given the scarce opportunities out there I’m trying to consider options wide in terms of choosing companies to apply.
