Just got rejected but the email says it's because of filled up demand. As folks from Meta always says they're short in headcount, wondering if that's just fancy words to "provide a great interview experience"? TC: new grad #tech #interview #meta #facebook
It's very competitive for new grads and i think you'll find that to be true at any faang. Senior roles are where all the headcount is
I was rejected for having too much experience for the role. They moved me to the last loop of interviews and they came back a few days before to tell me the HM thought I was overqualified. I had told the recruiter, I was ok making a parallel move and I interviewed with 2 people before this happened. I already had signed the NDA for the final interviews. It was very demoralizing.
That sound very shitty... Guess they downlevel a lot but never does uplevel?
If you’re e3 or ic3 then unfortunately you are out of luck. Those roles are always filled very early in the year at most tech companies due to intern offers. Unfortunately you will probably miss the requirements to apply as e3 again next year so I suggest you focus on getting 2 solid yoe under your belt and trying again as e4
When does e4 hiring slow down usually?
Yeah I'm interviewing for new grad E3. I'm graduating at June this year. Can I still apply to new grad positions within one year of graduation? Also wondering when they say it's because of headcount, is it really about headcount, or just I didn't did that well? I'm curious about this since I pushed my interview due to college exam :(
No worries I was rejected in a behavioral because interviewer was having a bad day during my interview at meta
Ask them, well… can you recommend me to another team that has headcount? You got nothing to lose, right?
Actually you're right! Will do!
Hey op, which location is this for? I'm waiting on my onsite results for a new grad role, if this is the case I'll move on lol
London. What’s yours?
Awh shit, same here. Thanks for letting me know
meta is having trouble hiring competent experienced folks, everyone and their moms are gunning for new grad roles regardless of company
