I am kind of in a pickle here and need some advice from the community. Last month I left the US for a day by road and upon arrival the CBP personnel at the border entered wrong info on my i94. I handed them my passport with the H1-B visa and the i797 approval notice. And they entered the Class of Admission as F-1 instead of H1-B. Now this is holding up other immigration proceedings and I am not sure what to do. Over the past weeks have sent several emails to the i94 corrections email for the deferred CBP offices and have not received any reply yet. Visited the nearest office once and was very politely asked to leave the premises. Has anyone faced anything similar before? How long did it take for CBP to fix the error? Anything else that I can do to expedite the process to get this fixed? Any help is appreciated. Thank you! TC: 175k (base) and paper money YOE: 7
Go to nearest CBP field office and get it corrected. Call before you show up
I did go to the nearest CBP office and was asked to leave. They don't entertain without appointments and they only give out appointments by replying to the email.
Then best bet is to email, get appointment and get it corrected. I would advise against leaving the country without consulting an attorney
Just goto any Nexus/Global Entry interview center and they will be able to help you out
Are these the ones at the airport?

Thank you! I will reach out to them :)
Aside from email, re-entering the country (land or air) is your best bet. I crossed over to get them to fix it. Took a couple tries. Best to get on this ASAP
Can i leave the country and re-enter again? Won't it cause any issues since the class of admission is wrong in the i94. I am not sure and worried if I might be denied entry due to visa type being incorrect
I think it's totally fine as long as your stamping and other documents are in order. Just go ahead and do a re-enter. Now be sure to check it then and there as to what they note down on your stamping.
