Got an offer for level 5 data scientist at Facebook: 170k base + 315k RSUs + 30k sign-on. 4.5 years of experience with a PhD. Does that seem like a reasonable offer?
RSU seems low for L5. I feel like it should be somewhere near 600k.
600k is way too high
600k over 4 is too high? I make about 240k as a senior at LinkedIn and I'm probably just in the middle of the band, senior at LinkedIn is about E4 at FB. E5 should be well into 300k total comp, especially for a data scientist.
~250k per year? No cash bonus?
Target is 15% for cash bonus.
So like ~ 275 , with multipliers and refresh you will easily go beyond 300k in your second year. Good luck.
great offer
New grads get $60k signings bonus.
I am not a recent grad. Been in the industry for 4 years.
PhD in CS? Great offer.
Yup. Been in the industry for 4 years now.
Did they offer you E5?
Could you share a little about how data science interview look like?
Did 5 interviews, 30 min each. They covered statistics/probability, data transformation with sql and feature analysis and measurement. I got detailed info about all the interviews from the recruiter before the day of.
BTW, I think it is a fair offer
This looks about right
600k RSUs are for SWEs. DS as well as other ICs (PM, DE, PD, etc) makes about the same base as SWEs but much less in RSUs.
PM makes about the same

Why no one cares about the lives lost in Gaza, Israel and busy in their own lives?
Menlo Park or Seattle? I just got an offer for basically the same amount in Seattle.
Seattle. But my understanding is that FB doesn’t have different compensations between Menlo Park and Seattle.
Was this your offer before or after negotiations?
