Hi all, can anyone offer tips on interviews at Square? This is for general SWE role. YOE: 2 TC: 150k
I had a really good onsite exp.
Hey do you mind sharing a little bit more about your experience? Either here or a DM I'd greatly appreciate it
Just did the phone screen and passed - question to me is multi steps -achieve one functionality then adding to it, starts easy to harder, but overall it’s a bit tricky since I felt I had to switch mindset when the new question comes in but requires a bit different technique to solve.
Did you need any LC knowledge to solve them? Also how can you point to some resources which you used for square interview in specific?
You probably don’t need LC to solve it, but I’d say LC still helps - string/array manipulation especially, nothing hard tho (e.g no DP stuff)
The programming questions are often LC type but guided very thoroughly and used data structure skills, somewhat different from what you get in fb, Google.
Questions: - Develop a text editor API where you can move the cursor around - Check if a word contains exactly two words (or exactly 3) - Allocate movers evenly, i.e. you have a move with 30 boxes, a move with 10 boxes, and a move with 20 boxes, and you have 30 movers. 10 should go to move 1, 10 to move 2, and 10 to move 3. - Design hotel booking system
Their questions are very reasonable and applied, distinctly not LC style
Thanks for the reply. Do u mind DM'ing me an example of a question like this? I hear this a lot but I'm so used to LC I'm not sure what this means
