I want to buy a benz e class. abut few people i know said that not good for my career. They say if my boss finds out i drive an expensive car than mine, he might get jelous and that would hinder my growth. Whats your opinion on that?
I love low YOE-based threads like this. Quite amusing sometimes.
No valid response comes out of an amazon guy.
The irony of trying to insult someone else while asking if theres any merit to buying an expensive car or if it will hinder career growth. Shut up OP.
If the boss is so insecure about you driving a more expensive car than him that he would "hinder your growth", then he's a poor boss and your growth is already being hindered by reporting to him imo
I understand that. But such black and white thinking will work in early days of career. When u r trying to become director or vp, huge amount of politics is involved. Every nuance matters. I posted this hoping someone experienced in going up the ladder will give me some insight.
True. You should only ride a bicycle until you get to director level. Then you can upgrade to a Corolla. /S
Lmao đ¤Łđ
Who are those people? The ones who gave you that gem of an advice ? First, avoid them ! Your car. Who the F cares what you drive or don't drive?
Nobody cares what car you drive.
I dont know man. I dont think people are like that anymore. Go buy car that makes you happy and keep it low-key
This is the kind of advice you get from people who work in traditional office jobs and have no visibility into software engineering. No, your boss won't give a shit and they'll probably never know unless you're going around bragging about it. My director drives a Micra ffs
Who said software engineering doesnât have politics?
There are several instances like team lunch etc when they can find out what I drive.
It wonât matter itâs not like your boss canât afford one
Your boss is probably smarter than you and will give zero shits about what you waste your money on.
LOL E-class is a starter Benz
Thatâs still $1100 a month.
$1100/month is irrelevant without the actual model, and loan terms
