I’ve been working at FAANG since 2004 and I worked at startups before that I am technical but not looking to code full time. More of an Architect. I prefer IC roles with wide scope. TCT $325K. Recent actual TC north of $800K but those days are over. YOE almost 30 I’ve done FAANG with fat paychecks but working nights and weekends and always challenged to do the next great thing Now maybe it’s time to kick back a little. I still want to do a good job, but at a “regular” company (not FAANG, not startup) where expectations are lower. Sure it may mean less pay, but also much less stress Any suggestions? Generally looking at Seattle area but may be open to moving.
Cisco, 4 hour work week and negotiate remote
ServiceNow, 10 - 3, a little bit less pay than FANG
Microsoft? There are also mid-size companies in Seattle with good WLB. Or maybe try a fully remote gig?
They don’t call it the Lazy B for nothing.
Ibm. Architects can become master inventors very easily and get paid till death as a consultant. 300k minimum
Intel for WLB
It’s not bad, but I think msft is cushier
Come to Microsoft... Except for a few teams like azure, 4 hour work days are common for many. I will never leave because of this one perk.
How does no one figure out you’re not working? Doesn’t your manager pay attention?
^ the manager is probably doing the same thing.

Is it true many Indian couples are in sexless marriage?
I am not looking for a startup. I am looking for a regular company. IDK maybe Sony, or Boeing... something like that
To succeed at Amazon requires lots of time and effort. Although I learn a great deal, it is never enough and there is always the push for more. The expectations are huge. At Amazon you are working with the top tech folks... it’s tough to stand out With my experience and knowledge I think I can kick ass without too much effort at some other companies. Looking for suggestions on whether that is true.
