Nowadays I see a lot of people in my friend circle moving to UK, EU for MS to get a job there. Main reason they're going is for better QOL. I'm also thinking of going to Netherlands ( because of the 30% ruling) stay for a few years and coming back to India. Main reason I want to go is to travel and experience the culture and QOL there. Because of the great salaries in India nowadays I know that I'll most likely be saving less money if I go there. I wanted to hear the experiences of folks who might have already moved to Europe. Where are you now? Are you planning to come back? When you came back did you face any difficulties getting a job? How are you doing money wise? TC: 26L YOE: 2+ #booking #amsterdam #swe #uber #databricks #facebook #google #yelp #zalando
Came back from Europe after more than a year stay. If u call cleaning house & washroom, cooking food 3 times ..etc good QOL, please go. I save more here and actually enjoy qol here with that money.
That's not QoL. You're just being lazy.
What QoL?
Indians throwing money in europe for masters.........nice.
Master’s education is free in a good portion of Europe, even for international students.
Ohk..... didn't knew this. Thanks.
I live in Amsterdam. Lived in Ireland before moving here. I personally like it here. Don’t have to breathe in smog for air ( was in Delhi before ). Can bike to work, have a solid work life balance and live among a very diverse and multicultural crowd. This is how I define QoL for myself but then it is totally possible that you would have some other parameters in mind. Ofcourse if you find cooking, cleaning and chores a detriment to your QoL then you wouldn’t like it here or anywhere in EU. I currently don’t have any plans to return and it is difficult to predict too far into the future.
Thanks for sharing. Are you in Booking? Would you still stay in Amsterdam after the 30% ruling runs out? What's your monthly expenses, ~2k?
Not in booking. Currently in a Dutch E-commerce company , joining Uber soon. I think I will be inclined towards staying here even after the 30% ruling ends. I think after 5 years the salary I would get even without 30% would be good enough to live a comfortable life. And I do not want to trade my peace of mind while chasing a super high TC. My monthly expenses average around 1.6k currently, rent being the biggest contributor.
