Dropbox layoffs?
Thinking about joining company as PM. How’s the health of company? Any talk of layoffs?
Why does Dropbox still exist?
Pretty healthy I would say. No talk of layoffs. I am pretty confident that if we do have any layoffs that they will be minor. We make money unlike most tech companies.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Folks at Dropbox, how are the yearly refreshers? Are they standard or does comp drop pretty quickly?
Not sure about PM, but standard refreshers for SWE are about 1/6th of your initial grant.
Thanks for the info. Any idea how senior a “Lead PM” is? Trying to understand the leveling a bit more.

Dropbox didn't explode in its hiring during the pandemic, in fact, they went virtual first and probably saved a ton of money. But since we didn't hire like crazy, we don't have to trim as much fat in an economic downturn. I am very happy here and it feels like a pretty stable company. Just don't expect the stock to skyrocket.

the only thing i’ve heard is that attrition has been super low so most teams have been good on meeting head count. there are still teams hiring, but definitely been a bit slower. no layoff talks though, thankfully
There will be less additional headcount but no layoffs in sight. Backfill headcount is now moving towards low cost of labor markets though
Wonder what their revenue split looks between consumer and enterprise
