Lol @ Netflix, is it kinda like Amazon there?

Uber Xctv564 Apr 29, 2019

they only pay cash though not stock, so you're never going to be an overnight millionaire. that said 350k cash is not bad

Netflix Nqac32 Apr 29, 2019

You can put all of that cash into NFLX stock options if you want to.

Analyzing blind poll responses is less useful than Nov 7, 2016 polls regarding Hillary Clinton becoming the next president of the United States.

Amazon bezoscrist Apr 27, 2019

Why's that? Is there a known bias, or are you just saying there's no reason to think there *isn't* a bias in the data?

Yelp sJJv80 Apr 27, 2019

I’ll take “selection bias” for $800, Alex.

Google cEMj22 Apr 29, 2019

Uber should be higher and LinkedIn lower.

Uber 120B Apr 29, 2019

Why?

Uber ZombieZoo Apr 29, 2019

Because Google is higher.

Groupon noped Apr 29, 2019

Yeah

Google sqrt(-1) Apr 29, 2019

Job security or clueless employees?

Apple yuHI16 Apr 29, 2019

The percentage of worried engineers at Netflix makes me wonder if their hiring bar is too low?

Google sqrt(-1) Apr 29, 2019

Given their culture, I think this is WAI.

Tesla lesscode Apr 29, 2019

Where is TSLA

Google JLrC80 Apr 30, 2019

Probably top 3

Tesla lesscode Apr 30, 2019

Its at -1

Netflix Tom10 Apr 29, 2019

Very true of Netflix. The bigger issue is that firing is almost always political and not performance related. Lack of performance review or any other form of written reviews makes it very easy for manager to fire ICs anytime and justify it with whatever reason.

Netflix LoveDeathR Apr 29, 2019

It's rarely political for an IC or a manager to be fired. Director and above maybe.

Netflix Tom10 Apr 30, 2019

It’s not rare. This month alone 10+ ICs are fired for the same reason. DM me if you want more details, don’t want to share org level info here.

Expedia FltRth4vr Apr 29, 2019

Surprised anyone scored higher than AMZN

Tesla lesscode Apr 30, 2019

TSLA

PayPal sarcasm Apr 30, 2019

I see there is a correlation b/w the TC and level. Higher the level, higher the salary, higher risk. Highly applicable for Netflix. Least at MSFT. This might be sample bias.

Microsoft FromMars Apr 30, 2019

Counter: Google

PayPal sarcasm May 1, 2019

Google has various levels unlike Netflix where everyone is Senior Engineers. Hope that answers.
