Three years ago I graduated from college. I had no internship experience. I was never told to go for an internship. I became homeless with a student debt looming over me after getting rejected by over a hundred companies. Then one night there was a storm and I walked into a McDonald for shelter. Then a lady in uniform approached me and asked for my name. I hesitated because I was homeless and scared for mistaken as a bad person. Instead, she asked me if I want a cup of hot cholocate. She learned my name and listened to my story. Just when I was about to leave, she came with a clipboard and a pen. Today, I am in her shoes working as store manager, and she went to corporate. Give people a chance to prove themselves. I was once nothing and a rat in people’s eyes. Today I am here to make sure my workers get the best out of their careers. Listen and reward.
