Just got a Finance and Strategy role at Stripe. 5 YOE in Management Consulting, with relatively clear path over the next 4-5 years. How much growth is left in Stripe's stock given recent ~$100B valuation? TC at Stripe is similar to current consulting comp. Consulting TC expected to grow strongly over next few years, but Stripe cumulative TC entirely dependent on the growth left in the stock #stripe #consulting #tech
Id compare stripe to visa, so you have a lot of growth left
3-5X market cap using Mastercard and Visa. That's not bad, and probably skews the TC slightly to Stripe
But again, the fact that stripe recalculated your awarded stock every year makes it so that you don’t benefit nearly as much from their growth
Any thoughts on how the comp at Stripe grows YoY?
What is the offer at Stripe? You left out the most important thing.
TC $220K, 5 YOE
Why will consulting TC grow? Just curious
Consulting typically has quite a defined and steady growth path, with up-or-out promotions every 2-3 years. So you grow at 10% p.a. between promotions, and 30-50% p.a. at promotion. Assuming you make it for 5 years, you're averaging 20-30% p.a.
What your Stripe TC breakdown? The growth really depends on the RSU portion
Sorry - missed this - roughly 60/40 in cash vs. RSU
Hello starting the interview process later this week. Currently a SFA at AWA. TC: 170k, 6 YOE. Wanted to know what the offer package looks like
How is the level translated for finance & strategy? YOE 7 is like L#?
Doesn't stripe's stock awards get calculated during vest time? So there's basically no upside or risk
There's the upside from point of vest to IPO (think so). If awarded $40K RSUs in Year 1, and company IPOs in Year 3, the RSU value grows over Year 1 --> 3
There is certainly upside just not nearly as much as the old comp structure allowed. Sadly this is where most equity comp structure is going to move to.
