Even after your H1B transfer to the new company gets approved. You can legally keep working for your current company and totally ignore the new petition. Ofcourse there are consequences (such as being blacklisted by the new company) but not aware of any immigration or legal consequences
It's not okay to transfer just on H1B receipt. You're risking it with 9/11 rule.
