Wtf is going on I believe full time devs at workday getting laid off is pretty unprecedented
Its 30% of QAs across all pillars
Wait 30% is just 30 people?
The communication was delayed to teams and this has surfaced about how well the company is currently doing and should we anticipate there to be more?
Do we need QA these days?
I mean… no comment… lol
Wow, now it makes sense why recruiter ghosted me after really good round of final interviews!
Disgusting. What happened to thier core values ??
Too many Oracle imports have poisoned the well
Can I still join the company? I just signed the offer today and the background check is still on going
Is 30% of all QA that should be more than 30
It's about 30-40 folks not 30%
I'm confused, what do you mean QA devs? The QA people I work with do no development work, pretty much just manual testing and devs are responsible for automation on whatever we did 🤔
I think it changes from team to team. In my team, we have QAs who do manual testing and also QAs who code/do automation test.
Ah ok ya, none of ours do at all and I've kinda been wondering sometimes what they really do on some things where we've written extensive auto 😅 I think one told me at some point that dev job was not to think up a ton of weird scenarios that could go wrong and essentially was telling me I only need to test happy path, but uhhh if I can think of it why would I not test it when I'm already writing tests (I'm not sitting here for days thinking up weird edge cases or anything ftr, just some obvious potential things that could go wrong)
How many total people laid off?
I believe just those 30. They are dancing around reporting requirements to continue our “never had lay offs” mantra. Disgusting practice.
Need to add this to layoffs.fyi
