How we protect anonymity

We take anonymity seriously. We want people to express themselves confidently and safely.

We have a patent for our authentication practices (US Patent No. 9439072), where email addresses are hashed, salted, and then encrypted. We don't store your email, and any activity on Blind cannot be traced to an email. As a result, we also have no way of restoring forgotten passwords (so please remember them!)

If your employer monitors company email, they may be able to find out whether someone requested a verification code. However, receiving a verification code does not mean you have a Blind account. We never send confirmation emails after an account is successfully created.
