Recruiting at apple

I interviewed with apple in mid january and i still haven't heard back. I figured they had passed on me and decided to move on. However a good friend of mine, an apple vetran suggested that this is typical of companies like apple (tech giants) and i should reach out to see what is going on. Against my better judgement, i did reach out to the recruiter (after all its apple, why shouldn't i go the extra mile). Its been 3 days since my request for an update and no response yet. 1) I don't agree with my friend, irrespective of the size of the company, i think the recruiter owes the candidate an update at the very least (even if the feedback is taking a while). 2) I have had situations where the recruiter has forgotten to get back to me aftet 2 weeks. However they did have the courtesy to respond to my email request for an update, i feel apple's lack of response is disappointing, to say the least. Is this a typical interview experience at apple ? Am i wrong in thinking that this is unacceptable behavior on the part of recruiters from a tech giant like apple ?

It’s high time Apple sorts their shit out about recruiting. I have seen multiple such threads about Apple. Have experienced it as well. I just gave up on them. If this is how they treat their prospective candidates, then they are going to loose good ones.

Dont waste time on apple. I have the same experience like you. I felt i wasted my time by interviewing with them. Dont do that their are better companies out there.

This is also typical of how Apple treats its employees. If you pass this test, and have thick enough skin to tolerate it - you are a good fit. This situation is within norms at Apple, I believe. It may not mean anything for you. They may be interviewing others, waiting for something, etc. if you don’t like it and have other options - move on. It’s really fuzzy. Sometimes they hire very quickly, if they are desperate, sometimes hiring process takes months and even years!

Think of Apple as young attractive sexy spoiled popular young lady selecting her partner - this analogy explains everything with hiring process there.
