Indian stores selling expired packed food

All Indians know almost all Indian stores are selling expired packed foods and packed foods fried in shity oil. Many items like packed chips, mixture, etc are fried in India 6 months ago. Even I see branded company food are taste shit because they are expired and relabeled with new expiry date. Many products don't have expiry date. But no one is making this as big issue. What we should do this stop this? From Apna bazaar Bothell: Here is Relabeled packed food with no expiry date. It tastes like shit because it's expired.

Complain to county. They will close for a few days. Then they will reopen and continue to scoop money in buckets. Same shit has been happening in Seattle for 2 decades now. Not gonna change that tradition now.

Once we found mold in yogurt other time jaggery had gone bad. We now buy most of grocery from safeway/whole foods. I agree, something needs to be done about this. But not sure what we can do. Complain to some government office?

Thanks for the warning. Just don’t shop there

I once found a bread with mold on it in a Safeway. Go figure. Complain to the health department. Not here on blind.

If someone doesn’t complain on the internet, does it make a sound?

I'll called the Washington consumer department. Looks like they are closed today. I'll request everyone to call the respective state number on Monday. For Washington, please call 800-353-3965. Other state numbers can be found here https://www.fda.gov/Safety/ReportaProblem/ConsumerComplaintCoordinators/default.htm

Ugh, Indians do not give a rats about others when it comes to this stuff - the FDA banned alot of the snacks coming from India because it contained higher than normal levels of pesticide. I would at least make this aware on the stores yelp/google review pages, etc

Survival of the pesticidest

Most of the wheat flour like Aashirwaad brand have no expiry or manufacturing date on them. Why would one ever buy that shit ?

Man! I have been meaning to say this since a long time. Apna bazaar sucks, they are a bunch fucking thieves with no regard to regulations. Namkeens arent crispy, chapatis are expired, dahi is from dinosaur age, frozen food seems like is from India before independence, paranthas so stiff, they can be used as nut bolts, achaar is more fucked up than politics in asia.

Microsoft Boh OP Dec 16, 2017

Yes, it's horrible. They are taking advantage of ignorant Indians

I’d report them to the state. Honestly, I never shop at these stores, but if found expired food from any store, I’d report it and make the owners deal with it. Otherwise, what incentives do they have to change anything?

Illumina GenomeKing Dec 16, 2017

Some local news stations have consumer reporters who love to make stuff like this public.

Apple bender-😒 Dec 16, 2017

Seriously. Is Jesse still at KIRO in Seattle? Don’t know who the consumer bulldog is in the Bay Area.
