Read this a few months ago but it looks like she has scrubbed kickstarter from her linkedin and history? What happened? Was she a shitty director of engineering? https://www.google.com/amp/s/techcrunch.com/2017/06/08/kickstarter-hires-slacks-erica-baker-as-director-of-engineering/amp/
Cuz she is good at politics?
And then the woman that hired her at kickstarter, her name is lara hogan also quit after 4 months. What happened there?
Probably was terrible at the actual job of being a director of engineering. She was hired purely on her outspokenness around diversity and inclusion. That's good stuff but it doesn't mean you're automatically qualified to be a director.
Who cares. Don’t you have something better to do other than trawling rando linkedin profiles?
Not really? This is the women in tech topic. Im wondering about some women in tech
Jeff at grail left as CEO after 11 months, as did a few others, maybe he was bad at his job. Who gives a fuck. worry more about google dataflow and less about random google ex employees.
Op what are you trying to say? That Kickstarter gave her the job of director of engineering just because she was a womyn? As a pansexual disabled biracial transgender genderqueer Native American women I am deeply offended and can’t wait until you are ousted as the deeply misogynistic individual that you are. It’s 2017.
Is this like a troll post lol. Naw im genuinely curious if some drama went down. Who has the gossip???
She could have just found out she didn't like the company or position. That's the most obvious answer. I've had a position where it looked good from the outside but I found out it was a huge dumpster fire I wanted no parts of once I got into it.
“Moving Fast, Staying Put” @EricaJoy https://medium.com/@ericajoy/moving-fast-staying-put-95b22d328685
Ohhhh. Tl;dr she moved to patreon. I've passed by their office a bunch of times
“outspoken advocate for diversity and inclusion in tech” + did the salary spreadsheet thing at google. Going from build engineer to DIRECTOR of engineering in a couple of years. Everything you hear about her has to do with diversity and inclusion. Any engineering there as well? Maybe, director of inclusion/diversity would be a better title?
I am just wondering what happened at kickstarter for her to scrub it from her linkedin. She only stayed there a couple months from what it looks like
Whatever happened, going from director to sr manager is a demotion. Which is probably why she wiped it.
