Can people working at carriers suggest how to unlock carrier sim locks. I know online websites exist but I actually want to be able to do it myself instead of relying on 3rd parties. Happy to provide compensation for someone who can guide towards the light
There are only a few working methods when it comes to unlocking (specially iPhones). Unless you are going for a hardware unlock like GFSim, all the 3rd party websites have inside connections with people at leading carriers like AT&T, TMobile etc. A significant amount of what you pay to these websites goes to the middleman involved. But in case of the latter, unlocks are done by the carrier itself, allowing you to update your phones which is not possible in hardware hacks like GFSim.
I worked at T-Mobile so I only know the standard unlock processes. Tmobile sprint and ATT reauire that you pay off your entire installment plan/contract. I believe they all require that you use the phone on the original network at least once. ATT has an unlock website where they process their unlocks Tmobile is only done through their customer service line Sprint is also unlocked through customer care. Verizon phones come unlocked out the box for most new phones. Metro usually requires that you use the phone for 3 months and then unlocked through an installed app or customer care
I got my TMobile unlocked using 3rd Party without paying off my contract and without using TMobile in my phone even for a minute.
T-Mobile can do a temporary unlock if you tell them that you leaving the country I always say that to customers but att phone has to be payed off and with all carrier expect T-Mobile Android phones it take about 3-4 day process after you request
