I’m very confused. So they can’t stop all extensions but they can on a case-by-case basis? If that will be anywhere as common as RFE’s, how good is it really?
Yes. And that has always been true.

Where is the uscis update?
I think USCIS will say that even the initial news was not from them (No USCIS announcement) so it is like asking for a clarification on a non-issue.
I find it suspicious that only McClatchy is able to report about USCIS ?. All are from so called sources, where is the official memo ? I think IV is playing dirty politics
There is no denying that Immigration Voice is doing alot for HR392 bill but not sure what was their plan by spreading such news and I **guess** they were forced to take this fake news back.
Dunno whats the truth...you can’t trust uscis and dhs...they are wicked and so is the newly appointed dhs director
IV just deletes comments not jerking them off LOL. Was commenting on a top-comment with 50+ likes which was then deleted 😀
If we simply project Uscis's attitude in last few years, h1 extension ending is a natural step for them. Getting RFE and then rejection is very common these days, 221G is increasing at alarming pace even for professors at reputed universities, and now h4 ead in limbo. what makes people believe that this story is a fake news. i'll err on the side of caution and congratulate industry pressure and all the folks working behind the scenes (and quite frankly doing a thankless job) for making uscis back peddle on this front.

I am worried this was all drummed up by IV. Do you know if they raise funds? If so, this seems suspicious. Since the only media outlet that had first-hand publication of this story was tied back to IV.
Whatever it is, I think it teaches everyone to be highly skeptical of all news unless independently verified
