Which one do I need for RSU and stock investments? It says that premier provides “additional help” for stock investment. I’m unclear if additional help just means more documentation or actual features.
I think you may be able to pay different to upgrade if you figure out the need later. You may want to confirm first.
I find the TurboTax features for helping with RSUs and ESPP to be error prone. As others have said mostly this is W2 income. What you need to do and what TurboTax and brokers conspire to make needlessly complex, is to determine your capital gain or capital loss from the sale vested RSU or espp. Don't forget the commissions the broker charges. Your employer's statements probably will. This is the down side of vesting monthly: the transaction entering is extremely tedious.
You can start with deluxe and keep going. If u add any forms that doesn't support in deluxe it will ask to upgrade. Also i might be biased but i never had issues with espp or brokerage. It connects with my wealth front, robinhood and all other provider and automatically pull all info.
You need TurboTax Premier or H&R Block Deluxe.
Use TurboTax premier. Vested RSUs are reported on W2 but if you sold any stock (RSU or any other stock through a personal brokerage) then you should use premier
What if we didnt selp any stocks? Is premier still better?

RSU vesting/sale is included in W2, and if you are using a brokerage, you can do direct import of 1099s. I just use the cheapest option possible.
