What's the deal with American toilets? I'm European and I thought toilets were supposed have walls and doors. Now I have to shit behind raised cardboards? Where am I? In a barn? I can't get my self to shit outside my home. Any noise I make in a public toilet will echo to the outside. Does that mean I have to listen and make sure everyone who heard my farts leaves before I exit the poor excuse for a toilet cardboard box? The other day at one public toilet, this guy was asking me to pass him toilet paper while I am in the middle of a shit as he stares at me from the gap in the door. Wtf!
Step 1: Find your nearest single stall âfamilyâ or âgender neutralâ toilet Step 2: If there is no such thing, campaign for them under the umbrella of accessibility and inclusion Problem solved!
God bless the gender neutral restrooms!
Idk where you're from but in many parts of Europe they're even worse re social cues and self awareness. Holland, Germany, Sweden etc is ok though. That may be a new startup, mobile toilet door
Donât know which part of Europe youâve been to. Maybe some countryside part of Belarus?
Lol you prob visited a few days and went back I lived in Europe for years and my image of Europeans as polite and sophisticated faded away real quick and hell no never been to eastern. Really different experience being a tourist and a local though
What, your shit comes out smelling like roses and emitting rays of sunshine? People shit. Go see a therapist if you are that insecure.
Be less uptight. Many of us have pissed in a toilet hole in Paris. Weâve shit on a porcelain slab in the Netherlands. Weâve stared at wrinkly junk in an Istanbul bath (oh wait, thatâs not [real] Europe). Yet, we still love Europe. Why do you think someone is listening to your bodily noises?
Second that..even indian office toilets have the needed privacy. I guess the toilets here are designed the way so that people don't have sex in them
Since you are grasping at straws at this point why not say itâs a suicide prevention measure after the emptiness of evacuation? Makes about as much sense.
Nope, you don't need privacy for suicide. Just jump off the building
Nah. Itâs just easier to clean.
I totally get it. Just wait until you go to your first American football game and have to pee in a trough
Question: does America have this system to avoid homeless people parking themselves bathrooms and not letting others in? And it slowly became the norm?
It's cheaper.
Itâs definitely true that fancy restaurants, hotels, lounges, etc have full floor to ceiling walls in their restrooms. Itâs just much cheaper without them. Cheaper to install and modify, cheaper to clean, cheaper to fix, cheaper to help out if someone ODâs, etc.
Minor anecdote. When Google Glass was first launched, my employer then put large barriers between every urinal.
God bless the Toilets for disabled
