It's a dystopian nightmare in so many ways. No hallmark of a true world-class city, just a few big tech firms, soulless, no urban energy.
Take a break and go somewhere sunny.
Why complain? If you don't like it, leave.
Pretty much
Move out of SLU. Or better yet just leave.
I lived in Chicago for 3 years, NYC for 21 (though 13 of those on Long Island), and now Seattle for a year. I’ve traveled the world, and will be in Tokyo in a month for the third time. What exactly is this “urban energy” and “urban dynamism” that I see young people wanting? Even life in the middle of Manhattan becomes dull if you are (though admittedly loud and stressful: is this the energy you seek?). Is this “energy” in the night clubs you see in movies? That’s all that I can guess. I hate to tell you, but those don’t exist in NYC anymore — and they weren’t any fun when they did, unless you’re into recreational drug use and you are truly hot (not merely good-looking). NYC certainly offers more in terms of museums, but that’s for visitors anyway (go for a long weekend whenever you want). Otherwise NYC is just endless shopping, which you can do at any nice mall in America. And it’s only interesting to women, because the boutique places are pretty much all for women’s clothing and accessories.
OP I'm walking Pine Street as I type this and I see what you mean. I feel ya bruh
Oh.... Don't do THAT
How many days does it rain? Cloudy is fine, F’ing hate rain.
It’s been sunny a LOT this year though...
Today's sunny tho
I love it. I was just in DC and it was 18F there. People seem to forget that winter is winter *everywhere* outside of the Bay Area and Seattle has far milder winters than most places. It's a beautiful, gorgeous place. Lakes, mountain, evergreen. I suspect that a significant portion of this is a stage of life issue. If you're settled and want to own a home and live well, it can't be beat. If you're into apartment living and clubbing and the hyper urban concrete jungle scene there are better options.
