My roommate uses bit torrent to download tv shows. The Comcast internet connection is in my name. I got letters from Comcast notifying me of violation for GoT, thrice. The roommate apologized and said won’t do it again. We get along really well and he is good guy. We get along so well that he recently told me that he is now using VPN to download the shows! My problem is, this eats away the internet bandwidth and I don’t want trouble with illegal downloads. The roommate is chipping in for internet service so that is not a problem. I have a cable modem connected to a router. But he has an Orbi connected directly to the cable modem and uses that network. My constraints: 1. I don’t want to tell him to leave. 2. I don’t want to tell him too strictly to never do downloads again. He knows that he shouldn't do downloads like this. What can I do ? What are my options?
Grow a pair and tell him off before you get sent to Federal Pound me in the @$$ prison
Transfer service under his name. Allocate bandwidth via router. If you have 100mbps down line, assign 50mbps to each device, specially to his PC
Agreed. Obvious solution.
YO BITCH start throwing shit
*hands you a few dentacoin* will these do?
Change the router name. Tell him they shut down the internet.
use vpn
Tell him Comcast is asking for more money due to no more Net Neutrality.
Tell him you got arrested because of his deed. Ask him to send at least $200k to your bank account otherwise you will give his name.
Genius
Cheap sh*t, you will pay dearly once you get caught. Can’t you guys pay for cable? Earning a ton of money and acting so cheap. You are abetting an illegal activity. This is not India. Idiots
Tell him to stop that shit. It’s illegal. Or tell him to do the service in his own name.
@MDuE What???????
I lol’d so hard
