Is moving to Williamsburg ahead of the L closure a bad idea? I’m apartment hunting now, moving to NY next month - is the L closure as awful as everyone is making it out to be? I found a great place in Williamsburg near the L but I’m hesitant because I don’t want a guaranteed miserable commute a year from now 😬 Hoping to stay for a few years ideally
Depends on when you sign the lease. I️ don’t think it’s happening until April 2019. I️t won’t be too bad if you can walk to the G or JMZ
Not for the money you’d pay
Not sure I follow - are you saying it’s over priced or under priced due to the closure?
Bburg ain’t cheap, and paying that money to have a pain in the ass commute will get old quick.
Oh no, not the Loser train to Hipsterville!
I'm smart. I'm position between the L and JM. I always have a hot spare
I'm a real estate agent and I'll tell you you'll save money but it's going to be a huge inconvenience. Have you considered other parts of Brooklyn?
SF resident but frequent NYC visitor here. Depends on how much money you’re saving (I hear rents are dropping), and what your commute will be. If the Marcy Av station gives you a reasonable commute then you’re probably fine.
