Is Fitchburg good place to live with kids? Like crime rate, schools, closer to the train and affordable houses under 300. Any good IT companies closer? Please respond me ASAP.

Why not
i spent about a year trying to find a house between Cambridge and Fitchburg. I ended up loving in Shirley a few towns away and from what I've heard I wouldn't recommend Fitchburg. I do however recommend living somewhere on the Fitchburg commuter line if your that far out and want to have options. It's the only commuter rail that goes through Cambridge. I would look at Ayer or Shirley if you're that far out due to price. I think that every stop closer to Boston on the commuter rail houses go up in price about 100k
Thanks for the reply
As for companies, IBM in Littleton, Cisco in Boxburogh, Amazon Robotics in Marlborough.
How far are they from Worcester or Leominster? Can we take train?
I don't think you can take the train to those places unless they have shuttles from the train stops to their offices. If you want companies that you can take the Fitchburg train to there are a handful of them in Waltham, including Vistaprint/Cimpress (the company I work for). If you're willing to take the train into Cambridge and hop on the subway for a stop or 2 there are all the big tech companies in Kendall Square, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Akamai, Etc.

IBM has offices in Littleton - Cloud group, but both those areas are a bit far from downtown. It’s an average area, but I personally wouldn’t live there.
Why wouldn't you live there? Any reasons?
It’s far away from Boston. Mostly personal preference.
