Over the last year I've had a portfolio of 12k on robin hood and have made a gain of around 20% (tech stocks). I would like to invest more (5k starting) in a high returns robo investor platform which I do not want to babysit. Already have a crypto portfolio which is not part of this. Heard of wealth front, fundrise etc. Looking for advice from people who gained from this. Thanks for your suggestions.
Wealthfront and Betterment are the biggest (and best IMO) robo advisers that currently exist. They have tons of features that allow you to take an almost completely hands off approach since they automate everything you should normally do yourself ( tax loss harvesting, rebalancing, smart dividends reinvestment, etc.)
Wealthfront is good! Around 15% gains with 8.5 risk score
Thanks
Is wealthfront worth it? For 100k, you will be paying them 250$ per month whether you get gains or not.
Actually, that would be less than $21 / month in fees. With all the features that Wealthfront provides, those small fees pay easily by themselves.
It would pay off just with the tax loss harvesting!
Also , you probably know that but Wealthfront and Fundrise are completely different. Wealthfront invests in a diversified portfolio of mostly Vanguard funds in US and international stocks, bonds and REITs. Fundrise is real estate crowdsourcing.
Putting money in Vanguard s&p index funds will give you better returns. These robo advisor shops are not anything special, the tax loss harvesting they keep mentioning is not that high compared to what you lose out
Wrong. What you should have said is that in the past few years, S&P 500 outperformed international stocks. Past performance is definitely not an indication of the future. Plus, Wealthfront rightfully also includes bonds for further diversification and risks minimizing. Of course when we have a huge bull market that has been lasting years, you would have been better off with 100% stocks. The next decade can be VERY different.
And the robo advisor shops are pretty special in the sense they do automate everything that people should do Inna way that it is nearly impossible to manually replicate.
Put it all in crypto. You will regret it later if you do not.
Of course. No risks and probably annual returns of 1,000% for the next 20 years.
Us stock market growth since 2009 has been reliant mostly on chinaโs central bank purchasing us stocks. This is the setup for a major market crash and us dollar devaluation. Everyone will flee to cryptos for safety and the central bank goal of a cashless full trackable financial system will be complete.
Most robo-advisors tilt your portfolio toward small cap and value, which may or may not deliver sustained outperformance in the future. Small cap in particular has underperformed large cap over the past 7 years. If you want to capture globally diversified market returns without making any bets on particular segments of the market, just buy VT
You're correct. This popular way of tilting a diversified portfolio came from a study by Fama-French. Historically (but not necessarily recently) value stocks have outperformed growth stocks.
Real estate for sure
Lol
