I choose not to name the company but it's one of the FANG ones. I got the interview panel list And I see my old manager in there. I shifted teams when I was there and told my old manager I wasn't getting interesting projects in that team. Will this be held against me when I go interview again? Should I let the HRs know this? I don't wanna sound too whiny either. What do you suggest? How should I face my interview with old manager?
My experience has been that people tend to hold grudges if the split was not amicable.
Isn’t it some conflict of interest if interviewer personally knows the candidate? In this case this interest is probably not in favor of you so I would tell HR. You don’t need to say anything about past history
True.. maybe they missed it since the last manager listed wasn't this person
But if you tell, you would be cross reference checked right away. You can't escape him anyways. Atleast, known devil is better than unknown angel.
Just tell u worked with one of the panelist and like it to be changed.
Thinking of letting them know.. yes
How did you end up in Cisco after FANG?
Actually got a good bump and level raise too.. Cisco worked good for me ..
How did you find out about the panel?
Recruiter sent interview panel ahead of interview
Delay the interview so the panel is changed.
Well can't do that.. already have a pending offer and delaying this would mean I can't negotiate (if I get it)
Inform the recruiter, they should be able to get someone else on the panel. The results would be tainted otherwise.
Yes.. have emailed them.. thnx
