What’s the best strategy is for communicating with the recruiters after reorg? A massive reorg has happened and then micro reorgs and here it is a recruiter contacting from an outside company. Yes he knows now I have a big incentive to leave and to accept his offer. And yes, I’m frustrated with a situation and want to leave. But how do I tell recruit that I have other options? Should I tell him? Just for the sake of him having balanced information- “yes, I want to leave”, but “yes, this is the time interval when I’m interviewing and other options appear”.
External. But I’m curious about what you said about internal. As to external, I felt the recruiter switched to some sort of a relaxed mode once he learned about reorg, kind of “oh, he’ll join us probably as he is in such a mess right now.”
Well, internal still work with the company. Their job is still to bring in people... But they have may have incentive to save the company cash. Speaking from one company's practice. External, in my experience from hiring them and being hired through them, have a range and care less about trying to sell you a deal. Yea, be honest. Let him know you have a fire under your ass and you're in the mode to move.
Going through the exact same thing. Instead, I never told external recruiters anything about org issues but rather I want to move, once first offer came it set the minimums. All other recruiters fell in line for the money and timeline. So work towards landing first external offer. And being honest always help just use words carefully. Best thing about the situation is you are wanted in both places, make use of it.
Internal or external recruiter? External, be honest 100%. Internal, guard your words but be honest still. End of the day, recruiters get paid to hire people. So they'll want to expedite and make you happy if they're good at their job.
