Google recruiter reached out but hasn't responded back

I submitted an application through a referral a month ago and got contacted by someone that said a recruiter would follow up with me. I got contacted by the recruiter to fill out a candidate profile about 2 weeks ago. They said they'd follow up with additional info within a few days but I haven't heard back since. I followed up a couple days ago but haven't heard back. The position was removed from the careers page. Does that mean it's been filled and they don't need anyone else? Should I follow up with the recruiter again or the channel specialist that first contacted me? Or should I check with my referral?
