Anyone had insights into how good (or bad) it is? I tried it last year but it felt like a half baked product, especially for HSA & schedule D. Has it improved this year?
Get a CPA (especially if you have more complicated taxes than just income from a single job
Credit Karma filing was free and gave the same result with the same amount of effort as TurboTax for me last year, so I did Credit Karma. We’ll see what happens this year. Hate TurboTax’s skeezy upcharging.
They gotta make money too
They had some mistakes for hsa California
At a certain income level and complexity, Credit Karma would no longer be sufficient for your taxes. Tech salaries often with stock options, ESPP, AMT etc may not be ideal
This years CreditKarma Tax is really good, last year I file my tax on turbo tax since doing my tax is complicated and doing it on CK is way too much work. This year I will definitely file my tax with Credit Karma Tax, we are launching a lot of great features to make filing easier, defining try out our product!
I would suggest what I am going to do, fill out both turbo tax and credit karma tax . Compare and file.
you know ck doesn' t have a strong product (tax)when even the employees don' t use it
Both comments above yours say that we are going to use it.
Yeah I definitely used it this year over HR Block. Took the same amount of effort and they don't arbitrarily charge me money because my AGI says I can afford it. Sounds like a you issue, don't throw your opinion on all your other coworkers
TurboTax is always good
