I am new on my job and the corporate American landscape. I would like some advise on how I can best build trust and a great relationship with my peers and my boss. My boss is a director and likes to be included in everything that his directs are doing and is also new to the company. He likes numbers on quantifying everything and wants to run everything His reports are working on with each other before taking it out to his peer level and above to higher ups. He says he wants to give autonomy but I have yet to see that. I am trying to figure out how I should be reacting? What steps should I take on building trust? What should be my key takeaways to this approach of his? I want to have a great relationship with him so he can help me grow in my career. Any sincere advise will be greatly appreciated as I am super stressed.
