I agree, SparkCognition is a good company and working on some cool stuffs. Some teams @ HomeAway, Indeed, Atlassian are very good. There are some startups in downtown area which are good but not unicorns.

WP Engine has a great culture
Google I believe announced in new office tower in downtown Austin. I believe they're looking to hire 5000 people.
Check out the site angellist. You'll find a lot of tech roles there that you won't find elsewhere.
Opcity is a pretty good option with decent compensation and a solid engineering environment. They are a python, react, AWS shop and have some quality engineers and projects on. Ping roshni.rana@opcity.com and she can point you in the right direction.
