Any resources at FANG or in Bay Area for developing female SDEs?

Can you recommend resources for females who are starting out and trying to land first SDE role in the Bay Area?

No. The same resources are compatible with both male and female brains.

Cute. And of course you're right, but I've heard there are groups trying to develop female participation in STEM and in particular Software Dev and Engineering, especially since it's felt they are underrepresented in those roles

Still, by having different resources, you’re assuming that men and women develop differently and some resources on one side are not compatible on the other side. There’s a double standard being applied here.

Another "diversity" candidate lol

And it's possible Google etc are making special efforts given their recent bad press about it

Google is facing pincer lawsuits from a group of women and a group of men on the same issue (access to hiring/raises/promotions). The group of men have a much better lawyer, which is extremely important (just ask OJ). I highly doubt that Google is focusing on eugenics programs right now.

Nonsense. The Damore lawsuit is good publicity for Google as far as any hireable candidates are concerned

There's a big conference for women in STEM called grace hopper, its basically a giant recruitment effort and all the big companies are there. There are likely some smaller conferences as well, especially in the bay area.

Women techmakers is a group from Google for this, but I've heard that there's drama so I'd be careful. Other than that, most women in tech groups in general have a large representation in the bay area due to the density of jobs here.

I would guess Facebook is a great environment for anyone, including women. I was surprised how “touchy feely” the management culture is (in a good way), in my interviews, and how many women there are in senior Product roles. I expected FB to be more Zuck-like but it was more Sheryl-like, at least in groups I met, GMS and Product.
